Boulder field in North Wales


Hikers wandering through this late Autumnal landscape might stop to wonder what this jumbled mass of rocks littering the hillside is doing there, and how it got there. The answer is ice, North Wales was under a mile thick glacier back in the ice age, and this jumble of rocks is what it left behind when it melted.
